In January 1997 I moved to Gent in Belgium on a whim. After two weeks my money was running out and the first place I walked into gave me a job! It was a huge fashion photography studio and I was their eager new apprentice. I couldn’t speak Flemish and knew nothing about photography but I was thrown in at the deep end and learned both very fast. Towards the end of 1999 I came home with a passion for photography and an addiction to chocolate. 

 

So many years on and I shoot more weddings than fashion. Weddings are fast paced, challenging, exciting and just great fun. Every wedding is so unique, it’s amazing to be a part of a once in a lifetime event. The next best thing to shooting a wedding is delivering the photographs, seeing the bride and grooms expressions as the pictures bring it all back to them. I love my work and I think it shows in the pictures I take, what other job lets you create something that will bring back these fleeting moments 10, 25 or 50 years later.
